Rho Rho was set up and is run by Thomas and Bridget Rhodes – an illustration & graphic design duo who met whilst studying at the Glasgow School of Art. They work from their home in Aberdeenshire, Scotland and started out specialising in creating bespoke, hand-drawn, original pictures.
As well as these personalised keepsakes Rho Rho now make other illustrated products for the home using their original and distinctive detailed drawings.
Their style is heavily influenced by their backgrounds in engineering and industrial design – Rho Rho drawings have a technical quality, and use of colour is very carefully considered in their designs. They draw on their surroundings for their subject matter: places in Scotland that they love; the natural environment that surrounds them in rural Aberdeenshire; and everyday objects they admire.
Thomas is a technical illustrator who has always loved drawing. He creates the pen and ink line drawings.
Bridget is a graphic designer, she runs the shop, and adds colour to the illustrations and designs.

Our custom illustrations are hand drawn with pen and ink. Each illustration is carefully crafted and personalised to create a simplified and stylized image based on the photograph that you provide.
Next, the images are scanned at super-high resolution to retain the original clarity and quality before each hand drawing is digitally coloured with a simplified palette based on the colours in the photograph.
The final artwork is printed with pigment-based inks onto high quality Somerset 225gsm archival paper and carefully mounted or framed if you choose.
We then package the work in a protective cellophane wrapper and stiff card-backed envelope for posting. Our lead-time for commissions varies, so please contact us if you have a specific or very tight deadline and we’ll do everything we can to make sure it gets to you in good time.
